Graspop Metal Meeting: 15 years of solid metal PDF Print E-mail

This year Graspop Metal Meeting, or shorter: Graspop, celebrates his fifteenth birthday. Graspop is a three day anual metalfestival in Dessel (BE).

The story of Graspop actually started some 24 years ago. Peter Van Geel started the festival as a ‘family festival’ with (at the start) bands of local soil. The tenth birthday however, with The Simple Minds and Joe Cocker, was certainly not a success. Peter decided that more ‘alternative’ editions were the way to keep Graspop on track. Thanks to Bob Schoenmaekers (Biebob) and Herman Schuermans (Rock Werchter) Graspop was transformed into a metalfestival: Graspop Metal Meeting.
