Outshine is a hardrock band from Gothenburg, Sweden who started off in 1995. They describe themselves as heavy, melancholic and dark with grunge and gothic vibes. They released their second full album 'Until We Are Dead' in April 2009.

Band: Outshine
Album: Until We Are Dead
Genre: Hardrock/metal
Label: Dead Tree Music

Review: Starting from the first song, it immediately strikes me that this is a very versatile band. Their songs are very catchy and vocalist E.J. has a very charismatic, unique voice which suits the music perfectly. I really like this band's approach as to their intro's. They're always very original, 'Save me' being a good example to what I mean. This album holds a lot of different kind of songs. There's the catchy ones such as 'Love For The Music', a song that keeps buzzing in your head for a long time, there's heavier songs such as 'Wisconsin HG' and there are some slow songs such as 'Save me' which to me is a perfect ending to the album. Despite combining a lot of genre's on one album, Outshine can't help but sounding a bit monotonous at times. Nevertheless I think this album is allright and I really like their song 'Riot'.

Conclusion: a versatile, fun album with nice vocals and a specific sound. Some of the songs are a tad boring, but all in all they have a nice sound.
